| Description: Onre's first ideas come from everyday life. |
| Biography: These songs are from Onre's new collection. These tracks where done with film in mind. Along with new age music and foot stomping grooves. From the very start I would hear thing a little different like working on a special art form. Meaning to be creative you have to make changes where some times there wasn’t enough space. This opened up the opportunity to add different sounds and add color to my music. My style of music range from New Age, Electronic, World music, Jazz Fusion, soundscapes. Artists who I feel that are in the same direction are George Dukes, Quincy Jones, and Marvin Gay, Miles Davis, Jimmy Smith

Mi Dream
By Onre Nobles
Independent
This collection of eight instrumental compositions could best be described as the Forrest Gump of ambient music (it’s like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get) in that it reflects a variety of moods and styles ranging from percussive to meditative, dramatic to rhythmic, introspective to extrovertive. Mi Dream offers a pleasant mix of electronic and ambient tunes that are palatable, frequently energetic, and occasionally cathartic.
The title cut sports a jazz-inflected electronic sound with an easy, driving beat that gets your feet tapping while still managing to remain unobtrusive. The mood changes quickly and positively with the next song, the oddly titled “Hip Hop Theme.” I say ‘oddly titled’ because while it samples a hip hop intro, it quickly spins into an oriental riff before settling into a drum and bass rhythm shot through with electronica. The song morphs into the groove oriented “Mi Groove” which pulses at the rate of a heartbeat while gaining momentum on the power of its understated bass line.
The musical production quality is top notch. On the plus side, Onre Nobles’ Mi Dream displays a nice balance between liveliness and a pleasant lethargy. It’s good music for quiet mornings and hot coffee, or quiet evenings and hot tea. Fans of Eugene Frieson, Art Sachs, or Michael Stribling will dig it.
