| Biography:
Ralf's chameleon abilities on the guitar mean you could see him at any number of venues, playing any kind of music. He grew up playing blues and R&B, gained his first live experience playing hard rock in his native province of Ontario, saw the country touring with country bands and co-leads two contemporary jazz bands with 4 albums released to date (Terrain & Manic Thematic).
His latest venture is a musical tribute to some of his deepest influences. The CD 'EST 1968' features 10 original compositions that range from swamp blues to reggae groove.
Although Buschmeyer is best known across Canada as predominantly a jazz master, 'EST 1968' is more blues influenced. "This album is a tribute to all the artists who’ve influenced me since I started playing music," says Buschmeyer. These artists include greats such as Steely Dan, Ray Charles, James Brown, John Scofield and Stevie Wonder. The album captures the groves of these great musicians.
"Ralf's playing is full of heart and sophisticated phrasing. His music weaves a lovely and skillful tapestry of blues, jazz and groove." Michael Manring - Grammy-nominated bassist and composer
Ralf is married to noted singer/songwriter & pianist Corinne Plomish and enjoys being a dad to 2 kids and 2 dogs.
