Biography: Juliet Annerino Writer/Composer/Performer A jazz singer in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Juliet began producing/composing and directing the cabaret show, “Societe Noire”, featuring various short one-act dramatic pieces written specifically for intimate club settings. Through these, often using elements of “Performance Art”, Juliet introduced some unique elements to the club atmosphere, such as rhythmic dialogue and body-painting. She always strove to imbue each piece with a subtle philosophical theme, a comment on the human condition in its wondrous complexity, demonstrated through the great organic messenger of humor. Juliet’s favorite topics for these pieces have always been Love and God. From March of 2001 until the following June, Juliet sang at the lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo, Egypt, seven nights a week. She returned to the States and commenced developing a documentary video piece called, “The Dream” which was featured in the New York Film Festival. The piece explores the meaning of being “American” from a cultural perspective, inspired by her time abroad and return home. Juliet’s latest creation is the all-original theatrical/musical multi-media production, “The Lord’s Lover”. The show features erotic dance, video segments, satirical scenes and songs with her band, “The Torch Ensemble”. Juliet's song style is a unique hybrid of jazz, funk, lounge and pop elements. The common element of her music is the inherent passionin her composition as well as her performance, that could only be called "Torch"...
