Mojomama releases highly anticipated second album
“Think Feel Love Listen:”
produced by Bill Thomas
July 10, 2006( Denver, CO )
Rocky Mountain based soulful, rock and funk band Mojomama releases a musical journey on their second album. Lead singer Jessica Rowand comes to life on this album and steps into your living room bringing you classic sounds reminiscent of Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt and Aretha Franklin .The musical styles vary on the 11 songs from 70's R&B with horns to Latin flavored rock to Blues of the 40's era. The album is very mature and organic sounding throughout featuring great musicianship, thought provoking lyrics, and world class vocals . There is something for everyone on this album and when listened to in it’s entirety you will truly find yourself on a musical journey of your very own.
The members of Mojomama have been on the Colorado music scene for quite some time and have had their share of peaks and valleys in the music business. They write their own music as a collective group and are a 100% independent from any record labels or corporate entity. Mojomama is self managed and handle their own bookings and finances . The band is confident that this new album will bring them more attention on a regional and national level.
“Think. Feel. Love.Listen” is produced by Bill Thomas bringing his decades of experience into the studio, working with all types of artists from George Benson to George Clinton to Mojomama.” From the first band meeting with Bill it was made very clear that this record was to be our record as much as his record.”says Jessica Rowand “This relationship has stayed it’s course throughout the recording process resulting in an amazing album and an even more confident sounding band.”
Using the recording studio to their advantage made a huge difference during the recording of this great new record. Mojomama added stellar horn arrangements ,Hammond B-3organ and the Steinway grand piano to flesh out their sound. The addition of a wonderful gospel choir featured on the tribute to New Orleans track “Take it or leave it”, further adds to the joy and celebration of life evident in this new music.
